Basic Computer Skills

More and more jobs require computer skills and some employers require all jobseekers to apply online for jobs. Many jobs require employees to know how to use e-mail, search the internet, create documents, and handle other digital literacy tasks. Will determine a date and time once 3 people have signed up.
with Online Class
We will be offering an online Biology class with labs through Newport Adult Ed. This will be set up as a blended learning flipped classroom utilizing Plato for the academic section and face-to-face labs on Saturdays. The instructor is a certified Biology Instructor for 7-12 and they are limiting the class to 10 students. As soon as I have more information I will add it to the class.

You will learn how to make frosting, use a pastry bag, how to make and decorate a cake using modeling chocolate, texturing, edible paints, etc. You will bring a pre-baked cake or cupcakes to each class with you. Create Your Resume

This 3 hour class will walk you through the creation of the most common sections found on resumes and help you determine what information should be included. For those that are not comfortable using a computer, there will be an opportunity to use forms to help organzie the resume and there may be someone available to help with typing. This class is designed for first timers that want to create a resume and also for those that have a resume that might need a few tweaks. We will determine a date and time once 3 people have signed up.

Estate planning is the tasks that serve to manage an individual's asset base in the event that they become incapacitated or die, including the bequest of assets to heirs and the settlement of estate. Learn about Wills, Deeds, Advanced Directives, Powers of Attorney, etc. This will be a three week class held on Thursday nights from 6-8 pm. hoMEworks - Homebuyer Education
with HUD Approved Instructor
The process of buying a home can be exciting and a little overwhelming. Homebuyer education can help you understand the process, give you the information and tools necessary to make sound decisions, and make you more confident in becoming a homeowner. If you are thinking of buying a home, plan to attend a hoME works first-time buyer classes. We would need a minimum of six students to hold the class and the cost is $30 per person. This is a 10 hour Maine Homeworks approved class that is required for various mortgage programs. This class would be one night a week from 5:30 pm – 8:00 pm for four weeks. ITV College Classes
Take college classes via Interactive TV during the day or evening at Mattanawcook Academy. If the college class you want to take is offered as an on-line class through UMA and/or EMCC you may be able to sit in on the class at MA instead of driving out of town to take the class. Testing for these classes can also be done at MA. Register through the college to let them know which ITV site you will be attending and testing at when you register.
